About Robert and Kathy

ROBERT MACLEOD is a teacher/trainer/communicator
from Western Australia.

He is a skilled teacher of the ALEXANDER Technique.
He is the developer of IMAGINEERING for acquiring
‘Life skills’ in action. He is the originator of
the Mind / Motion experience of 'The AKUDU Dimension', training you in
regeneration of physical experience through the power of the self.

As a young man Robert Macleod went in search of a teacher.
A strongly independent thinker he found it difficult to embrace
any kind of guru whether scientific or mystical.

In the end he says " I myself had to become
the kind of teacher that I was looking for."

A recording artist and songwriter in London
in the seventies Robert was in the ideal place
to explore his interests in European Mysticism,
Eastern Zen, meditation and movement.
He also had a deep interest in healing and ‘natural’ health.
Robert released two albums, Schadel No. 1 (United Artists)
and Between the Poppy and the Snow (Charisma),
He then trained and qualified as a teacher of the Alexander Technique.

In 1983 he began teaching the Alexander Technique in Perth.

But the radical, independent streak fired up again
after some years when he found that the Alexander Technique
was inadequate for what he wanted to communicate to people.

So in the 1990’s he began developing Imagineering.
Robert says that what he calls Imagineering is how we manoeuvre
within the dynamic of our 'mind as motion'.

"Imagineering pervades our life" he says.
"Either conscious or unconscious Imagineering,
through our beliefs, mental constructs and emotional drives
is how we ‘hit the ground’ as an individual.
It is how our creativity is engineered
into the structure of our personal reality."

Our great problem says Robert, is that
"we are savaged by our own emotions.
Even though we realise intellectually what is wrong
we don’t know how to free ourselves from that intensity.
Our life can be shattered and our health
and well-being can collapse from waves of
emotional intensity that seem ‘normal’ to us.
We are always setting off our own emotional tsunamis"

A new tool was needed to release emotional intensity.
Robert began to develop ‘the edge’.
Over the last five years all of the awareness skills
at his disposal have been fused into the practice he calls AKUDU.

Through an adaptation of the Magical passes of the Shamans of Mexico;
through the awareness technique called ‘the edge’;
through a conscious application of Imagineering to daily life
and through a simple and practical reorientation of attention
Robert coaches us into a new way of being.
